Stationary IMSI Catcher (IMSI-FD Series)
AT A GLANCE
A stationary IMSI catcher (also known as a fixed IMSI catcher) is a type of IMSI catcher designed to operate from a set location, rather than being mobile. Unlike portable or vehicle-mounted IMSI catchers, which are built for mobility and ease of deployment in varying areas, stationary IMSI catchers are installed in a particular place and usually provide continuous or semi-permanent coverage over a specific area.
Fixed IMSI catchers are beneficial when continuous or long-term surveillance in a particular location is required. They are critical in settings that prioritize national security, anti-terrorism, and surveillance operations.
KEY FACTS
1. Support network standards of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G.
2. Capture IMSI information of mobile terminals.
3. Various radio power configuration to capture data within a radius from tens of meters to over a kilometer.
4. Data analysis by comparing IMSI numbers collected during different periods of time and at different places, to identify the links between places and times visited by one or multiple targets.
5. Blacklist and whitelist are supported. Alarm is generated when a blacklist number is detected.
6. Real-time data transmission to back-end software platform through wired or wireless network.
7. Local debugging and data access through Wi-Fi or wired network.
8. Local and remote setting, query and alarm functions.
9. Local data storage and backup.
10. Indoor or outdoor deployment.
APPLICATION SCENARIOS
A. National Security and Counterterrorism
Fixed IMSI catchers are commonly deployed at borders, military installations, and government facilities to detect unauthorized or suspicious mobile devices. This helps in monitoring for potential security threats, identifying intruders, and countering terrorism by tracking the movement and presence of high-risk individuals.
B. Traffic and Border Control
At border crossings and major transportation hubs, stationary IMSI catchers help in identifying travelers and monitoring devices crossing the boundary. This assists in tracking individuals flagged by national security agencies, detecting smuggling networks, and monitoring unauthorized entries.
C. Law Enforcement Investigations
Fixed IMSI catchers aid law enforcement by identifying and tracking mobile devices in a target area, supporting suspect identification, movement monitoring, and security at sensitive locations or events. They enable pattern analysis, link potential accomplices, and generate investigative leads, providing non-intrusive intelligence while adhering to legal frameworks for privacy and data security.
D. Facility Access Control
Fixed IMSI catchers are sometimes integrated into access control systems in sensitive facilities and critical infrastructure, allowing them to monitor for unauthorized devices and alert security when an unregistered or suspicious device is detected in restricted areas. This provides an additional layer of security beyond physical access control and surveillance by camera.
