Guangzhou Mobile Uses Drone-based Antenna Alignment Inspection System for Antenna Acceptance Test and Maintenance
Project Introduction
In March 2020, the Guangzhou Mobile Wireless Network Optimization Center used Drone-based Antenna Alignment Inspection System to conduct antenna test and verification in Luogang District. During the test, the most representative floor stations and single-pole tower stations in Guangzhou were selected as the test targets. The test sites were as follows:
Test information of a floor station on Luogang Xiangxue Road of Guangzhou Development Zone:
Test information of Luofeng single pole tower station in Luogang, Guangzhou Development Zone:
A 15-minute operation guidance training was conducted on-site for a colleague from Guangzhou Mobile, and then the colleague completed the test of a single site independently within 9 minutes.
The significance of Drone-based Antenna Alignment Test System
1. With the acceleration of the construction of 5G macro base stations, the acceptance test efficiency of newly-built stations can be further increased, the negative influence of human factors (personal capabilities of tower workers and visual estimation test method, etc.) on the measurement of antenna attitude parameters can be reduced, and the accuracy of test results can be improved. The data accuracy is very important for the subsequent network maintenance and optimization.
2. When an accurate database of base station antennas is obtained, the telecom operator may achieve accurate accounting with the tower renting companies and avoid overpaying.
3. For the daily work of network optimization, except for the necessary engineering installation and modification, the necessity to communicate and coordinate with property owners is greatly avoided, which will further improve operation efficiency.
